WELCOME TO THE GRAND LODGE OF ANCIENT FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS OF DENMARK

This home page was made to give an impression of ”pure Ancient Masonry”, an impression of the Grand Lodge and of the activities of its Lodges.

Freemasonry has always been described as “a peculiar system of morality veiled in Allegories and illustrated by Symbols”. This statement of course creates more questions than answers.

Freemasonry has also been described as a group of men, who have devoted their lives to become better human beings - with the purpose of making society a better place to live!

This home page has been made to answer some of the questions, which can be raised about Freemasonry, and to explain how to become a member.

If you do not find the answers you are looking for here, you are welcome to contact us in writing for more additional information.

It is emphasised that the criterion to become a member of one of the Lodges under the Grand Lodge is identical to the one in use by recognised Grand Lodges all over the world, viz. that membership is open to all honest men of good standing, regardless of colour, nationality, religion, and political conviction, but with a belief in a Supreme Being. How a person has chosen to worship this Supreme Being, is a matter in which we do not take any interest.

Address and contact data may be found here.

However, Freemasonry is not only a matter of symbols and rituals. A substantial part of being a Freemason is most certainly being together with other men, in order to expand each individual member’s own concept of the many existing aspects of life in our technological society. This invaluable fellowship is a true asset for everyone who wishes to expand his experience and knowledge about our very complex lives. The age of Freemasonry is no obstacle to the present, as the doctrines of Freemasonry were developed to cover the concept - that we are alive.

For that reason it is always with joy, we meet with our Brethren of our Lodge in well-known and carefully established surroundings -  conditions which differentiate from our hectic everyday life. Here we abstract from pressure and solemnity and meet at the same level in a merry, but serious fellowship.

An infinite number of instructions may be found dealing with the purpose of the Masonic lectures and doctrines; but above all these aspects it can simply be concluded that Freemasonry is a way of life.
